Multiple conjugate observations of magnetospheric fast flow bursts using THEMIS observations

چکیده

Abstract. Magnetotail earthward fast flow bursts can transport most magnetic flux and energy into the inner magnetosphere. These are generally an order of magnitude higher than typical convection speeds that azimuthally localised (1–3 RE) flanked by plasma vortices, which map to ionospheric vortices same sense rotation. This study uses a multipoint analysis conjugate magnetospheric observations investigate responses associated with both substorms pseudobreakups. We in detail what properties control differences magnetosphere–ionosphere between substorm pseudobreakup events, how these lead different responses. The events were observed Time History Events Macroscale Interaction during Substorms (THEMIS), while primary made all-sky cameras magnetometer-based equivalent currents. selected when satellites at least 6 RE from Earth radial distance local time (MLT) region ± 5 h midnight. results show magnetosphere ionosphere much stronger more structured compared pseudobreakups, likely be localised, transient weak tail is for strong weaker events. Blobe decreases significantly curvature force density pseudobreakups smaller indicating may not able penetrate deep association help us activity ground data.

Tidal prediction using time series analysis of Buoy observations

Although tidal observations which are extracted from coastal tide gages, have higher accuracy due to their higher sampling rate, installing these types of gages can impose some spatial limitation since we cannot use every part of sea to install them. To solve this limitation, we can employ satellite altimetry observations. However, satellite altimetry observations have lower sampling rate. Acco...

Fermi-LAT Observations of Gamma-Ray Bursts

The Large Area Telescope (LAT) on the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope observatory is a pair conversion telescope sensitive to gamma-rays over more than four energy decades, between 20 MeV and more than 300 GeV. Acting in synergy with the Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) the other instrument onboard the mission the LAT features unprecedented sensitivity for the study of gammaray bursts (GRBs) in te...

Prompt Optical Observations of Gamma-Ray Bursts.

The Robotic Optical Transient Search Experiment (ROTSE) seeks to measure simultaneous and early afterglow optical emission from gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). A search for optical counterparts to six GRBs with localization errors of 1 deg2 or better produced no detections. The earliest limiting sensitivity is mROTSE>13.1 at 10.85 s (5 s exposure) after the gamma-ray rise, and the best limit is mROTSE...

Observations of short gamma-ray bursts.

We review recent observations of short-hard gamma-ray bursts and their afterglows. The launch and successful ongoing operations of the Swift satellite, along with several localizations from the High-Energy Transient Explorer mission, have provoked a revolution in short-burst studies: first, by quickly providing high-quality positions to observers; and second, via rapid and sustained observation...
